PROMETHEUS – Review

PROMETHEUS 

Why Ridley Scott? why? why did you have to create this “Asks more questions than answers” kind of movie? Why didnt you make up your mind whether to make this as a complete stand-alone project or to make a dedicated prequel to Alien? Why did you have to mash up both projects into a single movie and give us a Orange juice + Apple Juice kind of messed up recursive story? And why did you promise us a deep “thinker’s” movie, while actually you just gave us ulta-realistic CGI visuals to drool at (not even cheap thrills) ? why?

Prometheus tries hard to impress the viewer, but fails miserably. It is hard for me to point out the flaws in the movie without giving out major spoilers , but in the end, Prometheus felt like a cheap straight-to-DVD movie except for the fact that the visuals were quite good. The ship Prometheus travels across space in search of answers but in the end asked a zillion questions whose answers(if at all found) would contradict with each other. If only Ridley had sticked to a single concept: Make a movie about the origin of Human species OR Make a movie about the origin of the ‘Alien’ . Did I mention there were even some religious sentiments in the movie? I am forcing myself to believe he had a different concept in mind but was forced to make this junk due to the producers.  Or maybe he is following George Lucas’s footsteps(remember Star Wars?)

Whoa! Steroids much..?

I would say David was the only character here that could be remembered, and that too only because of his accent and the way he speaks. And Charlize Theron? Pfft.

The opening of the movie was spectacular, but the movie went down after that at an alarming rate. I was hoping it would pickup , but unfortunately it went on a steeper descent. Prometheus has become one of those movies that had totally shattered the hopes of those who went in expecting a great movie.
Prometheus – 4/10 | Can miss watching(even the DVDs) 

Well, atleast I enjoyed the flavoured popcorn and pepsi.
